I’m running a little late on getting my Spring Cleaning under way but with temperatures in Oklahoma soaring into the high 80s it’s time! The air conditioner is on. The ceiling fans are circling, wafting cool breezes down from above, and driving my cat crazy! And while I would love to spend my days sitting here writing books and blog posts … my house needs some attention too! The flannel sheet sets need to come off the beds to be replaced by lighter weight summer linens. Even the top bunk, a twin, in the office/guest room, where the cats enjoy lazy afternoons, needs a Spring makeover!
And there are so many other things waiting to be done! Closets to clean out. Clutter to sort through. Shelves to organize. And those ceiling fans that I mentioned above? They need a close encounter with a cleaner of some sort! Anybody have a secret for cleaning ceiling fans that you care to share? My windows and curtains need to be washed and some of the mini-blinds replaced. I know … I could wash them and put them back up but seriously … at about $3.00 a window my TIME is worth more than the silly blind!
One area that I would especially love to give a little Spring makeover is my living room! There is an empty corner that is just screaming for a floral accent chair! And how I would LOVE to add new curtains to that room!
I guess, given my current budget, I had best just open the windows, and allow the fresh air give us that touch of Spring rather than going out and buying it! But Spring is a great time for dreams and right now … I’m dreaming of a clean, cozy, country home!

I need to do some spring cleaning, too. Wish I could just hire someone to do it for me!

Me too, Chrissy! Me too!
I'm with you on the mini-blinds! I also desperately need to spring clean… does it count if it still feels like winter, here in Glasgow?
My recent post Getting into your writing zone
If it feels like Winter I would wait for July! Or when ever the warmth finally arrives!
Have you checked out any of my William Morris posts? A blogger I follow–Jules @ Pancakes and French Fries posted a challenge every Th during 2012. Every week you take on a task to make your home fit the Wm. Morris quote, "Have nothing in your houses that you don't know to be useful or believe to be beautiful." My house is cleaner, more organized and I am more sane for participating each week!
My recent post Immersion
I would be sorely tempted to join in except that I am not allowed to throw things away! Every time I try I invariably toss something that my husband wanted to keep, read, etc. I have finally surrendered and SOMEWHAT accepted the cluttered status quo! He is a GREAT guy and if this is his worst fault … I can indulge it a bit!
