The 31 Days to Build a Better Blog Challenge today has me brainstorming and planning 10 (or more) potential posts that I might write in the future. Ready for this? I promise … I won’t write them all today … or tomorrow!
Not Your Average Mommy Blog: a post featuring links to, and brief descriptions of, some of the male bloggers in our midst.
A Small World: a post featuring links to, and brief descriptions of, some of the international friends that I have made through blogging.
It’s Okay to Be Me: A look at who I am and an affirmation that I am okay … in spite of my imperfections!
The Best of Beth: I know I just did this but I want to do a more thoughtful version (and would love some feedback from you as to what I should include) which after posting will become a page (linked at the top of my blog and linked to my About Me page) so that new visitors can quickly and easily find some of my best posts.
Attitude Adjustment: A quick look at how choosing the right attitude can affect the entire day for the better!
Ai Ai Ai Acapulco: Another look into the recesses of my memory at my days as an exchange student in Acapulco.
La La Lupita: Another look at being an exchange student and how my name got changed to Lupe!
I’m a Little Bit Country: Life as a teenager in Vassalboro, Maine.
Oak Grove Coburn: I have mentioned, a couple of times, the fact that I attended a private Quaker Boarding School (with a Jewish headmaster) and people indicated an interest in hearing more about it. It’s also one of the Google searches that has brought people to my blog so it’s definitely worth another look!
Parenting Adults: It isn’t easy! A look at what works, what doesn’t, and the lessons I’m learning in the process.
Candlelight: I am a Christian and my faith is important to me. Looking at ways to share my faith gently without scaring off those who might visit who are of different belief systems.
Q & A: I’ve been thinking about doing this one for a while. Opening comments to any questions YOU want to ask and then writing a post (or series) answering those questions.
Surviving Infertility: An honest look at infertility and how it affected my life and dreams.
Survivor vs. Victim: We can all choose how we will let our past define us. I choose to be a survivor!
Celebrating Marriage!: I think I would like to do a series, around my anniversary (Sept. 27) celebrating good marriages! It seems that we hear so much more of the bad than we do of the good. I’m thinking of creating an interview of sorts and sending it to some of my fellow bloggers who are blessed with GOOD marriages and then sharing your stories that week. Any volunteers?
And now my dear friends … please tell me in comments … what would YOU like to see me write about? Step-parenting? Why I write? Why I write so much? Lay it on me … this is YOUR opportunity to tell me what you want to read!
Thanks for taking the time to visit Beth: A Work in Progress and to read this post. This article was written by Beth Zimmerman. Any usage of the content of this blog post, in part or full, must give credit to the author and include a link back to this post.

This is a great list! I especially like It’s Okay to be Me, Candlelight, Survivor vs. Victom, and Celebrating Marriage!
A wonderful list especially the marriage blog, look forward to it,
Yvonne.
Thank you! Perhaps I shall ask you to contribute one of the marriage posts. Love does go on even when life … doesn’t! Hope you’re having a good day today!
I want more Mexico stories!!!
Then you shall have them, my fair Noelle! Did you see my road trip post? I’m counting on you to provide housing (and hugs) in Utah!
Wow, what a great list. Looks like you’ve had fun with today’s assignment!
I’ve enjoyed what I’ve read so far.

I did enjoy it! I thought this was a great exercise! I’ll probably play with it more this weekend while I’m home recovering (minor surgery) and being waited on hand and foot (ha!) as I sit, laptop on lap, in my recliner!
I hope you’ll be all better soon! I offer my sympathies, I’m at home nursing 2 broken bones in my left foot and chained to sofa and laptop! I plan to work on my mindmapping when I get up and can grap a pad and pencil

I certainly qualify for that first one! And the last one — I have the best friend and lover anyone could ever want.

These are all great post ideas! Wasn’t today’s challenge wonderful? I like your idea about Q&A day…I’ve been pondering this myself.

I’d be happy to help with the Celebrating Marriage endeavor. That pretty much summarizes my blogging efforts every day!
I cannot wait for the Quaker School/Jewish headmaster post(s) — I am SO curious on that one.
Candlelight may well become my favorite. I am also concerned about scaring people away with my faith.
Survivor vs Victim is a topic I had thought long and hard about for blogging. But I have a hard time connecting with the victim perspective.
Bert & I will be celebrating 31 years of marriage next month on September 27th. One of the ways that I am planning to *celebrate* is by hosting a series of guest posts on the topic of marriage for the week (or two) before that date. In order to do that I need at least 7 (hopefully more) of you to agree to write one of the posts. I want a variety (funny, sweet, sentimental, poetic (Yvonne), photographic, wedding stories, honeymoon stories, divorce recovery maybe, a marriage that lasts through better AND worse, etc.). Pick whatever suits you!
If you would like to participate … please e-mail me your post (and any images you would like to include) by Sunday, September 12th. That gives you a month but PLEASE don’t procrastinate! I’m afraid you’ll forget! I will give a link back to your blog in the post so hopefully you’ll get some traffic out of it too! I’ll let you know what day your guest post will be featured as soon as I have them all and can get them organized.
PLEASE consider doing this for me! It truly would be a blessing to me! Thanks!

Gee, they all sound wonderful and I can’t wait to see what you write, especially the one on Celebrating Marriage. I’m always curious to see how others keep it going through the good, bad, and just plain ugly. And since I’m relatively new to your blog, I’d love to hear more about what your daily life is like.

Very nice list…I’m still working on mine. It’s one of those things that I keep running through my mind — but to put it on paper (or type it out) it doesn’t feel the same. I have to keep working at it. Thanks for stopping by Sunny Bug today

Kudos to Problogger for putting forth an excellent exercise, and kudos to you for following through. I honestly think you should make posts like these a semi-regular routine. At least once a month you could write something like this, and it’d help you plan, and maybe even get a few of us to suggest things.

Wow! They all sound great, but these are of particular interest to me:
*It’s Okay to Be Me
*Parenting Adults — I have 3 daughters (24, 18 and almost 16). My middle daughter will be heading to college in a couple of weeks. It is so hard transitioning from the parent of a ‘child’ to the parent of a person who was just your little girl and is now a grown adult and is leaving the nest! *sniff, sniff*
*Candlelight
*Survivor VS Victim
*Celebrating Marriage — We will celebrate our 20th Wedding Anniversary on September 22nd!!
I look forward to your upcoming posts! I hope you are having a great weekend.
Blessings,
Teresa <
